The Prediction, Emergence, Adoption and Knowledge (PEAK) Urban project aimed to inform urban decision-making by conducting research grounded in urban complexity, empowering urban populations to plan for clean energy futures, and nurturing a new generation of urban leaders. This research stream studied the role of industrial mega-infrastructure in Bengaluru’s transition to a largely service-sector economy. It examined questions of state rescaling, the role of non-state actors in the process of planning and developing these projects, their policy implications and the historical trajectory that has led to this approach to infrastructure development.
