Karunakaran Kumar is an External Consultant with IIHS, aiding in the development of the internet of things (IoT) infrastructure at the upcoming IIHS campus at Kengeri, Bengaluru. Previously, he worked in research and development in the telecom domain—setting up an LTE (4G) testbed, and implementing international standards (3GPP)-compliant Push-to-Talk application server and Key Management Server. He has a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications and a master’s specialisation in communication engineering. He is passionate about research and teaching. He has six years of research experience (including from his master’s) and one year of teaching experience.
