IIHS is developing this short online learning module for the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA). This module covers topics such as forest hydrological cycle, disturbances to forests such as fire, floods, droughts and diseases, and invasive species encroaching forests. It also discusses ways of managing our forests for water, biodiversity, climate change mitigation and ecosystem services. The IGNFA has the mandate of imparting knowledge and skills to Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officers and professional foresters to help them to develop competence managing the country’s forest and wildlife resources on a sustainable basis.
