IIHS, in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), conducted the India Disaster Resilience Leadership Fellowship 2019 to enhance practitioners' abilities in risk reduction and resilience building. Developed with input from George Washington University's Institute for Disaster and Fragility Resilience, the Fellowship focused on disaster resilience leadership. IIHS led the 'Urban Risk and Resilience' component, aiding Fellows in creating and executing urban disaster resilience Action Plans. The four-month programme included two one-week residential workshops and 12 weeks for action plan implementation. The initiative aimed to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to disaster resilience efforts in India. A total of 34 participants attended the programme.
