Through this project, IIHS developed a set of 40 interdisciplinary case studies for teaching and learning, set in India and a few other cities around the world. The project focused on three main themes: (1) Practices of Pro-Poor Planning, which explored the necessary transformations in existing economic and spatial planning instruments; (2) Settlement Transformation, which examined how different communities, from slums to informal and popular neighbourhoods, develop, upgrade, and change; and (3) Metrics, which focused on the flow of information about vulnerability and exclusion.
