OverView

Sukrit Nagpal holds a master’s degree in development from Azim Premji University and was part of the IIHS Urban Fellows Programme (UFP). At IIHS, Sukrit works as a researcher and practitioner with a focus on issues of urban housing, social protection and informal work.

Prior to IIHS, Sukrit led the land rights vertical at SEWA (Self-Employed Women’s Association) Bharat. The vertical piloted a programme to improve awareness and access to infrastructure services, tenure security and housing finance for informal women workers across a spectrum of informal settlements in Delhi and Patna. At SEWA, he also anchored policy research and advocacy, and worked closely on the Delhi Master Plan 2041. He began his career working at Catalyst Management Services (CMS) undertaking evaluations and research in multiple Indian cities predominantly on the themes of education, sanitation and health. He then worked at Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) capacitating urban communities to plan and monitor basic infrastructure services in their settlements through participatory research methodologies.
