Juwairia Mehkri has spent the last decade working in the field of urban development, of which, six years were spent towards gaining work and academic experience on issues pertaining to urban poor and housing rights. Her interests are deeply rooted in questions of equitable access to housing, politics of planning and contestations around legality and legitimacy of slum settlements and explorations of alternative solutions of the urban poor in their claim for housing rights.
