Vinothkumar Annamalai

Vinothkumar Annamalai has an overall work experience of nine years in the field of sanitation, WASH and energy sector. He held the position of Senior Consultant at the Directorate of Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department in Tamil Nadu, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the Sanitation Workers Development Scheme across urban local bodies in the state. He has also gained technical expertise in WASH through working in this sector for seven years. Moreover, he has acquired wide knowledge on local governance as he is involved in supporting Government of Tamil Nadu for Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin; providing guidance and support for ODF, ODF+, ODF++. Within the Directorate of Rural Development, Vinoth plays a pivotal role in the technical support and programme management unit. He is actively involved in Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin, particularly in ODF Sustainability and the preparation of Solid Liquid Resource Management (SLRM) plans for 12,525 gram panchayats and 26,000 villages in Tamil Nadu.

Vinoth’s extensive experience involves conducting over 200 capacity building training sessions on sanitation and project management. He specialises in training grassroots communities, self-help groups (SHGs), community-based Organisations (CBOs), NGOs, district officials, and senior government officers. As an expert facilitator, he actively contributes to local government training programmes for national flagship initiatives. In addition to training, Vinoth is deeply involved in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin. He has also collaborated with the District Rural Development Agencies in Ramanathapuram and Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, working in association with Tata Trusts and the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, to implement the rural cleanliness mission. His diverse experience showcases a comprehensive skill set, ranging from grassroots community engagement to high-level government programme management, making Vinoth Kumar a valuable asset in the field of sanitation, WASH, and energy sectors.
