overview

The project is a collaborative research initiative led by the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), the Development Planning Unit at University College London (DPU, UCL), and Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI). Funded by the British Council under the Going Global Partnership grant, the project is spearheaded by IIHS, DPU, UCL, and MBRDI. This initiative seeks to reimagine and transform engineering education in India by embedding principles of sustainability, interdisciplinary learning, and real-world problem-solving into technical curricula. By fostering collaboration between academic institutions in India and the UK, as well as industry partners, the project aims to mainstream sustainability within engineering education frameworks. Areas of focus include sustainable cities, urban mobility, and transport systems.
