IIHS is conducting residential capacity building programmes for officials of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, on a range of topics related to rural development and leadership skills to enable them to effectively implement and manage various rural development initiatives in the state that have been undertaken as part of missions and programmes such as the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin (SBM-G) and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (MGNREGA) and in areas such as disaster management and climate resilience infrastructure, non-traditional energy solutions, groundwater recharge. A total of 150 officials have attended the programme till date.
