Trained in urban planning, social policy, and urban studies, Geetika Anand has over 17 years of experience in the urban development sector spanning across master plans, planning legislation, planning education, capacity building, housing, water and sanitation. Geetika has worked with various government agencies, education institutions, NGOs, CBOs, and urban residents. She has taught at the IIHS, the African Centre for Cities, and as a visiting faculty at the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi. She has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed research / policy papers and reports. Geetika is currently finishing her PhD, focusing on the biographies of urban development practitioners in South Africa through a lens of learning.
At IIHS, Geetika works across the Academics, Research and Practice Programmes, and is a key member of the planning, housing, and water and sanitation projects. She recently was a researcher on Knowledge in Action for Urban Equality (KNOW) programme, where her focus was on urban planning education and its linkages with the issues of urban inequality in Asia and Africa.
