Mercyclara D is a community development specialist with 36 years of experience. She has worked as a Coordinator in the NGO, Activists for Social Alternatives (ASA), and as a District Coordinator in the Inclusive Education for Differently Abled (IED) Children project implemented under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). She also worked as an Assistant Project Manager (Livelihood) in the Tamil Nadu government poverty reduction project. She was a master trainer of SHGs and JLGs and has attended many national and international training programmes and workshops. She was working as a State Coordinator in the Post-Tsunami Sustainable Livelihood Programme. Monitoring of JLG formation under PTSLP across 12 districts in Tamil Nadu and validating the quality of JLG formed, rating their eligibility for availing bank loans, understanding their inclination towards enterprise, undertaking midterm evaluations, and providing support in case of repayment challenges.
