Summaiya Khanam Dharwad

Summaiya Khanam Dharwad is a professional microbiologist, passionate about pursuing independent research. Prior to IIHS, she worked for three years in Eurofins Analytical Services, Bengaluru. While there, she conducted several projects including on COVID-19 testing, COVID-19 water testing, honey samples (pollen count), UV validation, chemical testing for Hindustan Unilever, ozone efficacy testing and sanitiser efficacy testing. Her interests lie in molecular biology and virology.

At IIHS, she works as a lab assistant. She is working on water quality testing, water sample collection for both microbial and chemical (physio meter and monitoring well water, borewell water, pond water, and lake water testing), soil sample collection for both chemical and microbial testing. Soil parameters like total plate count and total nitrogen-fixing bacterial count, soil CEC, and soil texture analysis.
