Tabassum Jahan

Tabassum Jahan is an experienced HR professional with over 16 years of expertise in business partnering, recruitment, employee relations, formulation of HR policies, and leadership in culture and diversity, and inclusion programmes. She has helped businesses thrive through strategic people management. Currently at IIHS, she serves as a senior member of the People Function. In this role, she has played a pivotal role in reshaping HR practices and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Previously, as DGM–HR at Fincare Small Finance Bank, Tabassum managed HR strategies for a large workforce, making a meaningful impact. Before that, at HSBC InvestDirect, she led the HR function for Northern and Eastern India. Her career journey also features valuable contributions to organisations such as TATA AIG, Kotak Securities, and HDFC Standard Life Insurance. Her consistent focus on executing regional business strategies and ensuring effective HR functions underscores her professional trajectory. During these roles, her skills encompassed employee grievance management, diversity and inclusion initiatives, performance management, employee relations, talent acquisition, employee engagement, team management, talent management, and the formulation of HR Policies.

She pursued an MBA with a specialisation in HR, which led her to start her career in HR. Before that, she completed her degree in biotechnology from Jamia Millia Islamia. This unique educational background, along with her practical experience gained through internships at Ranbaxy, has given her a distinctive blend of scientific knowledge and HR expertise. This has enriched her approach in the field of HR significantly.

Tabassum has further enhanced her skills by achieving various certifications and completing multiple trainings and workshops. She is a certified Assessor from XLRI, Jamshedpur, a certified Culture Ambassador by The Culture Factor Group since February 2018, and has completed a Diversity & Inclusion Certification Workshop, Internal Investigations training, and the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People certification, among others.
