Start Year

01/01/2017

End Year

overview

The project aimed to improve land administration through research, policy advisory, training, and capacity building. The objectives included (1) training for stakeholders, especially government officials; (2) offering policy support to state governments; (3) integrating land governance into teaching at IIHS; and (4) organising multi-stakeholder dialogues on land governance. As part of the project, IIHS performed a range of activities envisioned under the scope and objectives. Most importantly, policy support was provided to the governments of Delhi (on improving property registration for improved Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) ranking), Chandigarh (for improving land records and preparing a land development strategy in peripheral areas), Uttar Pradesh (on alternatives for creating urban property records in the state), and Maharashtra (on use of drones for city surveys).
