IIHS is conducting capacity building and training programmes on urban sanitation management, climate resilience, urban infrastructure, and project financing and management and finance for officials of urban local bodies, the Directorate of Municipal Administration, Commissionerate of Town Panchayats, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, and the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board across various locations in Tamil Nadu, under the KfW-assisted Sustainable Municipal Infrastructure Financing for Tamil Nadu (SMIF–TN) Programme for TNUIFSL. The programme aims to provide training to around 2,600 officials of the Government of Tamil Nadu over next two years. The programmes incorporate a variety of pedagogical methods including lectures, workshops, exposure visits, case studies, and hands-on exercises on real life problems. The scope of the programmes include preparation of course content, pre- and post-course assessment, design and delivery of training programmes, monitoring and evaluation and follow-up activities. Over 1,500 officials have attended the training programmes till date.
