The research project focused on the present state of institutions and regulatory framework for urban transport planning in India and presented options for institutional reforms. The final output was a policy paper submitted to the National Transport Development Policy Committee (NTPDC), Planning Commission, Government of India, to enable the government to make informed decisions about transport planning across the country.
