OverView

Ketaki Ghoge comes with 17 years of experience in journalism, of which she spent the last 15 years covering politics and public policy for one of India’s leading English dailies, Hindustan Times (HT). As a senior political journalist, she has had a ringside view of how politics and power shape public policy and impact development. Ketaki closely tracked Maharashtra politics across the last four governments besides covering political developments in the neighbouring states of Goa and Gujarat. Some of her consistent reportage from the field and in the public policy space has been on urban governance and infrastructure, environmental regulations and agriculture. As an associate editor at HT, Ketaki also mentored and co-led a team of reporters and was responsible for conceptualising and anchoring special news packages and series, and writing opinion pieces.

Her interest in public policy and development nudged her to complete her second master’s degree in governance, development and public policy from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, in 2021. An award-winning journalist, Ketaki is the recipient of the Press Club Award in 2012 for a series of reports on illegal mining in Goa and the UNFPA Laadli Award for gender-sensitive reportage in 2007. She was also International Visitor Leadership Program’s Edward R Murrow Investigative Journalism Fellow in 2019 and Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellow in 2015.

As the Lead – Director’s Office, at IIHS, Ketaki is responsible for growing IIHS’ presence in international and domestic print and digital media, policy and research literature, and enhancing the visibility of its work.
