A landscape planner with a background in architecture, S Swati has a keen interest in the built environment–climate nexus. Her research involves foregrounding climatic and socio-ecological understandings through innovative and open collaborative thinking, and critically blending them with interdisciplinary methods. She has previously worked on a rural development project in Gujarat and a climate-action research project in northern Karnataka.
At IIHS, Swati has been exploring adaptive strategies, sustainable design interventions and policy implications to contribute valuable insights that can inform the development of effective solutions to alleviate the impacts of climate change such as heat stress in informal settlements.
