Rakhi Sahay has more than two decades of international development experience with a focus on inclusive finance, impact investing and climate sustainability. Rakhi has worked in consulting, advisory, research and knowledge management spanning across several markets in Asia. Rakhi possesses extensive experience in digital financial inclusion, climate advocacy, gender mainstreaming, financial health and innovation. Rakhi has led large multi-country programmes on financial health and driving advocacy with agencies like United Nations Capital Development Fund and managed global portfolios of Metlife Foundation, Rabo Foundation and Gates Foundation. Rakhi has worked with a large number of government agencies in India, Malaysia, China and Singapore to impact the innovation ecosystem and enable market building. Rakhi has led large resource mobilisation and negotiation efforts with private sector and philanthropies. In her work with international consulting agencies she has led large programmes on transformation, knowledge management, digital financial literacy and data transparency in particular with programmes supported by the World Bank and AusAid. Rakhi has been part of global working groups on digital public infrastructure where she contributed towards the International Finance Corporation’s 2024 Spring Meeting.
Rakhi is an alumnus of International Visitors Leaders Programme, a flagship US Department of State exchange programme that recognises emerging leaders globally. Rakhi has earned her master’s from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and hold a bachelor’s from Miranda House, University of Delhi. She holds a certificate award from Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany.
