A kitchen, referred to as adige mane in Kannada, is a space where the life of a family criss-crosses with various sociocultural dimensions. From ancient communal feasts to today's global food supply chains, the way we produce, distribute and consume food shapes our world and our daily lives. The intersection of food, culture and economic systems reveals a complex narrative influenced by historical shifts, political frameworks and contemporary challenges, in recent decades, the industrial approach to food production and consumption has transformed our relationship with food, bringing new challenges that call for Innovative solutions, such as the Experimental Kitchen project at the IIHS Campus, Kengeri.
