Niladri Chakraborti is a seasoned development professional specialising in WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), public health, and solid waste management, boasting over two decades of experience in the field. He has been instrumental in designing and executing large-scale WASH, solid waste management, and public health programmes across various Indian states, including West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

With a master’s degree in ecology and environmental science, and another in population studies, Niladri holds a strong academic background complementing his practical expertise. He currently holds a pivotal role in the Practice Programme at IIHS, where he leads the City-wide Inclusive Sanitation initiative in Tamil Nadu. In this capacity, he directs efforts aimed at establishing comprehensive and inclusive sanitation systems for the state and its cities, thereby contributing to improved health and hygiene outcomes for the residents. Niladri’s leadership and dedication have been instrumental in driving positive change in communities and advancing public health agendas.
